If you find yourself experiencing various symptoms of temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD), such as jaw popping or clicking, jaw clenching (bruxism), stiff jaw, or headaches, it is pertinent to receive treatment as soon as possible to prevent your condition and pain from worsening. At his Melbourne, FL facility, Dr. Sangiv Patel employs an impressive register of innovative technology that he will use to fully assess your concerns and make a precise diagnosis. One of these technologies is the Joint Vibration Analysis, or BioJVA™, which works by monitoring the friction and vibration present when your jaw moves. The JVA device records this activity so it can then be examined by Dr. Patel at his private practice, Sangiv I. Patel, D.D.S., PA. Contact our office if you think you could benefit from receiving a BioJVA™ diagnosis for your TMJ disorder.
Joint Vibration Analysis Reviews
"Dr Patel is fantastic and his office staff is wonderful as well. A little on the pricey side. It seems like the plan we came up with included followup appointments and I paid it all up front but then was charged at follow up visits. Will have to look closer at the exact details of the plan. He did however ease the pain from my TMJ with a guard and for that I am extremely grateful!"- J.S. / Google / Sep 19, 2018

"Needless to say, i was extremely anxious and fearful of having my 2-way bridge removed.I also suffer from TMJ and was concerned that I would be able to last through the procedure. Dr. Patel explained how he would proceed and involed me in the whole process. When my jaw got tired, I got immediate relief by a bite board being placed in my mouth. I am please with my temporary bridge, and I have every confidence in Dr. Patel producing an excellent permanent bridge."- S.Y. / Demandforce / Aug 06, 2011
"Dr. Patel is an awesome dentist! He is a full service dentist. Whatever treatment you require, you don't have to go to another specialist for a root canal, another specialist for TMJ, a different specialist for an implant or crown. . . He is -THE- specialist. If you need a crown, he makes it right in his lab, making sure it is a perfect fit. He is at the top of his profession and uses the latest technology to give you the best possible treatment. He truly cares about the well-being of his patients. His entire office staff are professional and caring. Thank you Dr. Patel!"- G.D. / Google / Feb 22, 2019
"Dr. Patel staff have been so professional and supportive it is hard not to talk on and on about what it is like. Just the other day he spent 5+ hours with uas in the chair - NO OTHER DENTIST has ever been so caring. It is obvious he prepares well ahead of time as to what to do, when to do it, and preservative of what GOD has given all of us. Yet when he has to remove a tooth he is so meticulous doing the implant and then being careful TMJ is taken care of - NOTHING is left to chance - HE DOES what is right!"- J.D. / Office Visit / Aug 31, 2017
Dr. Sangiv I Patel is an experienced and recognized leader in BioEMG with a Mastership award in dental biometrics and has lectured, published and served as a Beta-Tester for the BioJVA™ technology through the years. His experience is in the top 5% of providers for BioJVA™ with the evaluation of over 17,000 biometric traces.
If you have endured a physical trauma that has caused you discomfort, are in poor dental health, or are experiencing the physical symptoms of TMJ disorder, you could be a candidate to receive a diagnosis with this technology. We will use the BioJVA™ to accurately assess the intensity, frequency, and duration of frictional episodes while the TM Joints are functioning and at rest. This technology gives a detailed account of the condition of your TM Joints while performing various tasks, which will allow him to make an effective diagnosis and treatment plan that will rid you of your pain. Like the other technologies we house at our location, such as the T-Scan™ Bite Analysis and the 3D Cone Beam CT scan, the results of your JVA diagnostic will help Dr. Patel determine the best treatment program to remedy your TMD.
What to Expect & How It Works
Human joints have surfaces that rub together in function. Smooth, well-lubricated surfaces in a proper biomechanical relationship produce little friction and little vibration. But surface changes, such as those caused by degeneration, tears, or displacements of the disk, generally produce friction and vibration. Different disorders can produce different vibration patterns or “signatures”. PC-assisted vibration analysis helps identify these patterns and helps Dr. Patel to distinguish among various TM disorders. BioJVA™ provides a fast, non-invasive, and repeatable measurement of TMJ function to aid in the diagnosis of TMJ function without radiation.
If it is determined that you do suffer from temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJD), Dr. Patel may require you to come in for additional follow-up appointments to appropriately address your condition. After you have recovered from your TMJD, it is important that you continue to schedule your yearly dental examinations and twice-yearly cleanings at Dr. Patel's practice, Sangiv I. Patel, D.D.S., PA. This will allow him to continue to monitor your recovery and overall oral health.
