"I've been a patient of Dr. Patel's for nearly 14 years. He's treated me for a myriad of issues. In each case I have been completely satisfied with the outcome. His expertise is second to none. He also treats my son & met us at an Urgent Care facility on a Sunday evening when my son had an accident resulting a broken tooth. Above & beyond!! Dr. Patel has a great chair-side manner & we enjoy each other's wit & banter. The entire staff at The Smile Gallery treats me as a valued patient. They are very friendly, efficient & great to deal with. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Patel for all your dental needs. I wouldn't use anybody else."- R.L. / Google / Sep 15, 2022
"Dr. Patel is an amazing doctor and his staff are super sweet (Shoutout to Ashley, Michelle and Whitney!). Dr. Patel is the best dentist I’ve had in the past 20 years; he is very knowledgeable, explains everything thoroughly, and treats his patients with care and patience. He also uses high-tech equipment in his practice which I love! After a major dental work, I went in to make a follow-up appointment, and he was able to see me the following hour! Having moved to the area recently, I am so happy to have found him! Thank you Dr. Patel!"- E.A. / Google / Sep 14, 2022

A number of indicators may suggest that you are clenching your jaw and/or grinding your teeth at night. Maybe you frequently wake up with pain in your jaw, a headache, and swelling in your lower face. Other symptoms can include loose fillings or teeth, worn down enamel on the top of your back teeth, tooth sensitivity, or a receding gumline. Grinding and clenching at night are usually caused by stress but can also be the result of a sleep disorder, misaligned teeth, allergies, or temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD). After Dr. Patel has diagnosed your bruxism, he will also find out the cause in case your bite/night guard needs to be combined with another treatment for more effective results.
What to Expect
After Dr. Patel makes your diagnosis, he will take digital x-rays of your mouth to help create your custom bite/night guard, which will be crafted using high-quality materials. When your bite/night guard is complete, we will inform you so that you can come in for a fitting. Dr. Patel could make minor adjustments so your bite/night guard fits correctly. You will also be given directions on how to care for your night guard so it lasts a long time.
For your bite/night guard to be effective, you will need to wear it every night. Your bite/night guard will relieve or eliminate the pain and dental issues caused by bruxism, but if it does not, please call our team so Dr. Patel can consider other issues or try other therapies. To help keep your bite/night guard and mouth in good condition, you should properly clean both prior to and following each use. Be sure to bring your bite/night guard to all future appointments, exams, and cleanings so Dr. Patel can repair and adjust the guard as needed.
If you have been diagnosed with nocturnal bruxism or jaw clenching, part of the cost of your bite/night guard could be covered by your insurance company. If you have dental insurance, our team will contact your insurance carrier to obtain your coverage and costs. During your consult, Dr. Patel can discuss cost estimates, with or without dental insurance, and go over the various payment methods we accept. For more affordable dental care, Sangiv I. Patel, D.D.S., PA can help you apply for medical financing.
